Situated between the rue de Charonne and the Place de la Bastille, at the heart of the 11th arrondissement of Paris, the Hotel Boutet does not resemble any of its peers. Here, the weekend visitors just like the regulars like to reconnect with the Paris of the Parisians, the disorder of Faubourg Saint-Antoine and the ambiance of the Marché d’Aligre…All while enjoying 5-star service.
The décor
Located in a former wood factory whose walls date from 1926, the Hotel Boutet promotes these historical references. Two steps down the rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, a historical avenue of artisans and cabinet-making since the Middle Ages, the Maison Boutet supplies numerous furniture manufacturers in the quarter. As a result, wood is omnipresent, the historic and renovated mosaics and facades restores the spirit to the building and immerses the visitors in the authentic and sometimes forgotten history of Paris.
The location
The architects, Vincent Bastie and Astrid Dieterlen, made the choice of raw materials and warm, copper tones to complement the dark, faded wood everywhere in the hotel : walnut, but also teak and ebony in the two signature suites that were entrusted with students from the Boulle school (a fine arts school, next door to the hotel). On the ground floor, on the side facing the street, the bar welcomes the guests of the hotel and the quarter all day for a quick lunch, a hot chocolate, or a cocktail, while on the side of the garden, the breakfast room opens onto two terraces in order to take advantage of the days with beautiful weather. On the floors, certain rooms and suites have terraces with greenery offering an unobstructed view of the roofs of Paris.
For moms
The basement of the hotel houses a spa opened to the public and lovely indoor pool reserved for hotel guests : illuminated by a skylight, warmed to 29°C all year round, it is large enough so that one can manage a few breaststrokes before a lavish treatment in the neighboring rooms. All customizable, massages and relaxing treatments with essential oils, stimulating and stabilizing, pedicure, manicure or esthetics… One definitely finds happiness in going to enjoy this calming cocoon right in the center of the city.
For the family
More a leisure hotel than a business hotel, the Boutet gladly welcomes families with children, even the very young : the cribs are free, the second connecting room has a reduced price, the very lively quarter with its relaxing locations proves to be more adapted to walks with a stroller than the touristic center of the city.
We love the elegance of this 5-star hotel, only two steps from the bars and restaurants on rue Paul Bert : you must treat yourself to a visit to the Pâtisserie Cyril Lignac (24, rue Paul Bert), and for a romantic dinner at Unico (15, rue Paul Bert).
To discover :
- The atmosphere of the Place d’Aligre, a covered market (open every day except Monday), with vendors and cafes.
- La Coulée Verte : A walk of a little less than 5 kilometers which connects the Bastille quarter to the Porte Dorée along a former railway track that is covered with plants. The path is full of surprises for the children and offers a breath of fresh air to the parents.
- The pizzas at East Mamma. You will most likely wait a few minutes in order to get your table, but the dough and its toppings make it worthwhile. (133, rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, 75011 Paris)
- Le Pure Café, the café of the area to spend an hour for lunch for its small plates and friendly service.
