A stone’s throw from Tenbosch Park, this is the meeting place for families from Brussels. Welcome to the Garage à manger, a restaurant where you can eat well and organic, and where children are happy to occupy themselves with comics strips and coloring books, allowing parents enjoy a gourmet moment.
The location
Originally, there was Joel, the chef, who crisscrossed the markets of Brussels with his food truck dubbed “El Camion,” and who regaled his customers with his recipes of revisited street food. And then one day he had the desire for a change. With his partner, Joel fell in love with a former car repair shop, and created his restaurant, called Le Garage à manger, as a wink to the history of the project. With its industrial spirit, reclaimed furniture and large tables, the restaurant has become a meeting point for lunches and brunches with family and friends.
The plate
Weekends (Saturday and Sunday) at brunch time, you are invited to sample a great gourmet buffet, which mixes hot dishes, seasonal salads, braised vegetables, and a sweet part that offers pancakes, soft scones or homemade granola, fresh fruits and an assortment of jams and homemade spreads. Everything is delicious, organic and local.
For kids…
The place is stormed by families on weekends: there are high chairs for the little ones who want to share the meal of their parents and a play area dedicated to them, with crayons and books. As a bonus: a vintage caravan has been converted into a reading space, where children like to settle down with a comic book while their parents enjoy their meal.
Les Louves loves the friendly atmosphere of the restaurant, which welcomes strollers and children with a smile, and the spirit flea market that is found in the decoration and even in the collection of dishes mismatched.
