There are few hotels in Paris as refined and accommodating as Hotel Basss. Ideally situated between the terraces and shops of Rue des Abbesses, just at the end of Montmartre, the hotel has been completely renovated and redesigned in a minimalist style, with blue-grey tones throughout.
The Decor
The hotel’s name pays homage to Saul Bass, the American designer celebrated for his movie posters in the 80s (Vertigo, Exodus, West Side Story...). Simple and refined, the decorations are perfect for fans of Scandinavian design – especially the ground floor, with 1950s-style benches and armchairs . Each afternoon, you can sit here and indulge in a selection of cookies, muffins and donuts over coffee or tea.
The Location
There are neighborhoods in Paris that we love the moment we visit them, such as NoPi – or North Pigalle – despite the number of tourists who flock from Rue Lepic up to Notre-Dame each day. The constant energy, bohemian spirit and wonderful restaurants of Rue des Abbesses still give these streets a completely irresistible, authentic Parisian charm.
For the Children
Next to the buffet of afternoon sweets, reception places a number of colouring books and cheerful board games for children tired of walking along the capital’s streets. For smaller meals, the hotel’s refrigerator is easily accessible and they’ll happily lend you a high chair. Prefer the family rooms, they are spacious and comfortable, split into two parts (one with a single or sofa bed) and filled with light. Do note, however, that the bathrooms are very small and only have showers.
Les Louves loves having a peaceful breakfast on the hotel terrace in summer, before heading to the Butte de Montmartre.
