Rachel’s all-blue décor itself is enough for us to call it a sweet and calm break. In the Haut Marais, stop in this stylish and unpretentious American neo-diner, which serves pastries that are to die for. Slide the children on the comfortable seats and greedily enjoy a sinful taste of cheesecake or homemade crumble.
The Décor
Art takes reign in the pleasant atmosphere of Rachel’s, a black and white drawing by French artist Philippe Baudelocque takes center stage amidst the blue shades of the walls and furniture. Plush banquettes, geometric prints, navy carpet : welcome to the home of the Queen of Cheesecake, who cooks at different restaurants in Paris such as PNY and Le Bal and last summer opened her own address in the Marais.
The Food
Creamy and mouth-watering, the cheesecakes, the stars of Rachel’s, are flaunted like on the counter. Alongside them, a gourmet collection of homemade pastries: large muffins, crumbles served warm with homemade ice cream, pecan cookies… On the weekend the gargantuan American brunch will satisfy even the hungriest guests with eggs, smoked trout, bacon, pancakes, and granola. Do not hesitate to try one o their delicious salads which are both original and delicious!
For Kids
This spot is ideal for grabbing a snack with the kids. Take a chance after the lunch rush when the restaurant is a less busy and the tables are not as rare. There are no high chair or special children’s menu, but nevertheless kids quickly adopt their place on the comfortable seating. We recommend taking a table in the calm and spacious upstairs area where you can relax and drool over the dessert and pastry menu. A hot chocolate and a muffin will be irresistible and the whole family will have fully recharged their batteries before returning to your adventure in the Marais.
We Love…
… the unique all-blue atmosphere of the place and the welcoming smiles. Install your kids on the couch on the second floor and enjoy a break in the Marais: a rare find.
