Tramshedis first and foremost a spectacular work of art by Damien Hirst, center stage in the room is a giant aquarium of formaldehyde with a floating calf and rooster, where Chef Mark Hix cooks to the delight of meat lovers. The menu showcases beef and chicken. The icing on the steak? Children under ten eat free!
The Location
Opened in 2012, Tramshed is a shocking London restaurant, where Damien Hirst installed his monumental work of art in the hills of this old hangar of Shoreditch, made of brick and metal beams. In a giant aquarium, a calf and a rooster are immersed in formalin and overlook the guests who come to enjoy their family and eat a meat-lovers meal in this amazing and unique setting.
The Food
The chef’s expertise is simplicity: you can enjoy either beef or chicken. On the plate is excellent meat, with one-kilogram steaks to share, five-week aged meat by English company Mighty Marble, or poultry from Woolley Park Farm, roasted and served whole.
For Kids
Kids under ten eat free at Tramshed, from Monday to Friday 4pm to 6pm and on the weekends from 12pm to 6pm. Everything was thought of for their comfort, including high-chairs and booster seats.
